Masjid Al-Momineen is a Clarkston Islamic center at 837 North Indian Creek Drive, serving Clarkston, Tucker, Lilburn, Stone Mountain, and the wider immigrant and refugee Muslim community. The masjid began in 1989 in a rented four-bedroom house on Church Street through the donations of roughly 100 Afghan immigrants, then grew as Muslims from Pakistan, the Indian subcontinent, Iraq, Kurdistan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Myanmar, Syria, and other communities made Clarkston home. Its current property spans about 6.5 acres, with the new 26,000 square-foot masjid in operation since August 2019. The official site describes five daily prayers, Friday prayers, Ramadan Tarawih, Eid prayers, funeral and matrimonial services, social support, ESL and language training, youth programs, Quran learning, and bridge-building with non-Muslim neighbors.
