Islamic Association of Raleigh - IAR Masjid

The Islamic Association of Raleigh is one of the Triangle region's major Muslim community centers, serving as a masjid, school network, and gathering place at 808 Atwater Street. IAR's story begins with immigrant Muslims forming the Islamic Association of North Carolina in 1981, Friday prayers moving from apartments to NC State University, and the first mosque in Raleigh being built in 1985 as MSA and local Muslims came together as the Islamic Association of Raleigh. The current center includes a main musallah, private sisters' musallah, education facilities, multipurpose hall and gym, library, children's play areas, and Al-Maidah Kitchen and Cafe.
